Hi! I’m Dr. Abby Lee, a prenatal chiropractor running a holistic health practice in one of the busiest birth centers in Dallas/Fort Worth. I’ve loved women’s health since I was a young girl, but getting to walk alongside mamas during pregnancy and postpartum has been a dream come true. Being able to help them find relief and feel confident in themselves during birth is such a joy.

I’ve long been a fan of teaching my patients how to get a relief at home so I was excited when Momcozy reached out for us to put their new Maternity Belly Band to the test!

Here’s my review of Momcozy’s new Ergonest Maternity Belly Band!

How Does It Feel: As I get the Momcozy belly band out of the package, the first thing that is notice is how SOFT it is. It honestly feels like butter in my hands – which is a marked difference than the majority of other pregnancy support bands I have experience with. A common complaint of other bands is how itchy and stiff they can be, so I appreciate the softness of the Momcozy Belly Band.

Ease of Use: The band is really straightforward to use. You can easily adjust the support by how tightly you pull the top and bottom sections. Plus, you can put it on and take it off without needing any help!

Discreetness: A complaint I often have of belly support bands is how bulky they are which makes wearing them really obvious and I end up not being able to wear it at all with certain outfits. The Momcozy Belly Band is hardly noticeable because of the thinness of the band and the smoothness of the design. One of my patients wore it under her work uniform and loved that it couldn’t be seen.

Does It Work?: Pubic bone pain, belly heaviness, and low back pain are the three big symptoms I was looking to see if the Momcozy Belly Band provided significant relief for. I felt like it held the belly up well which took pressure off and provided a lot of relief for the hips and pubic bone. For low back pain, I think the Ergonest support design which is what they are naming the back support, makes a big difference relieving pain and overall discomfort in the low back and helping the back adjust to the new weight of the belly and shifting joints. Because of the nice support, the Momcozy Belly Band also made doing physical activity easier throughout the day. The only complaint I had is that when sitting in a lower positioning, it was slightly uncomfortable because it held the belly up so well.

Who Should Use It: I think many pregnant women would really appreciate this band! It’s not too stiff or restrictive to only appeal to women who are severely hurting. Plus, it’s super easy to put on and take off, making it simple for moms to manage on their own. From what I’ve seen, it’s especially helpful for those who are active or busy caring for their other little ones!

Compare: A lot of other popular pregnancy belly support bands either sit only around the hips, which makes sitting uncomfortable, or they’re too tight at the hips, making them hard to wear for long periods. Plus, the thicker Velcro on some bands can make them bulky and scratchy.

Cons: The only thing that stands out to me is the sizing—it only comes in M, L, and XL. If I were shopping, that might make me a bit nervous about whether it would fit me well being so small. But once you check out the sizing range, measuring instructions, and see how the belly band goes on, you realize it’s pretty customizable!

Overall, I really enjoyed the Momcozy Belly Band and so did my patients.

The Momcozy Ergonest Maternity Belly Band is priced around $60, and considering its great design for belly support, the low back support from the Ergonest design, the softness, and how discreet it is, I think it’s worth it for most moms.

If you’ve tried a pregnancy support belly band, how was your experience? I’d love to hear about it!
